Our Story

Saint Patrick's Weekend, 2020. Black Rose Irish Pub, Boston.

It was the night before Boston COVID lockdown. Cookie was asked to go out with her girlfriend, Danielle "DFrance" France after a long day of work. At first Cookie said no because of COVID and tried to convince her to stay in for Netflix and pizza. However after Dfrance's perseverance, Cookie obliged. And thankfully she did. Because that my friends, is how Cookie met Chad.

Dfrance and Cookie were dancing to Irish music when approached by a group of young men. "Andrew" (actually known to many as Fiume who was dressed in a Celtics uniform) introduced himself with an immediate follow up to Cookie as, "have you met Chad?". After making fun of his friend, it was then and there that Cookie and Chad bonded. After conversations of being Irish and loving Bulmers and Chad being Italian and calling it Gravy instead of sauce, Chad asked Cookie to dance. Yes...to dance.

May 15, 2022 Odiorne Point State Park, Portsmouth, NH

After a late shift, the following morning Chad invited Cookie for a light hike along the water of Portsmouth, NH. Upon standing on a large rock along the ocean, Chad surprised Cookie by dropping to his knee and asking her to marry him. Of course Cookie had immediate uncontrollable crying. Through her tears, Chad could not hear her say yes, having to ask her again.

Once Chad heard an audible YES through the choking tears, he stood there holding the box. This was followed by a few awkward minutes of Chad holding the box waiting for Cookie to take the ring and Cookie waiting for Chad to put the ring on her finger. Eventually Cookie put the ring on her finger with success of not dropping it on the ocean floor.

After walking along the ocean hand in hand, they eventually made it back to their car to call their family members and eat a BOMB meal at Surf Restaurant, Portsmouth.

Wedding Party

Cookie first met Cabby freshman year at NMH prep school. Regardless of distance, they have been the best of friends since! Cabby is married to Mike and have two beautiful daughters, Reagan and Morgan. She will beat anyone at football trivia and watch out... she's a ginger...enough said.

Cabby unfortunately will not be able to attend in person and will be celebrating us from a far!

Ashley is a sister to the bride. She and Rafael have three beautiful children, Sasuke, Avery, and Ayla. When she is not running the show at Rafa's granite company, she enjoys wearing slippers, tie dying, and day trips to Ikea.

Nicole is the second oldest sister to the bride. She has three beautiful kids, Tramiris, Rafi, and Juel. When she is not acting Chief at Uphams Corner Health Center, you will find her rocking out to 80-90s paraphernalia, wearing head to toe hot pink, or chillin under a Minky blanket.

Nicole will be celebrating from afar as a new baby girl is along the way! Can't wait to meet her when we get back from the islands!

Kelly is the bride's oldest sister. Kelly resides in Lamont, MI with her husband Kenny and three children, Weston, Kalob, and Cassidy. She has a Masters in Psychology and is an Intake Investigator. When she is not working, you will find her kayaking, fishing, or hosting at her lake house!

Ayla is the youngest niece to the bride (parents of Ashley and Rafael). This cute little red head takes after the bride as she also enjoys make up, glitter, rainbows, dressing up, Disney, and Care Bears! Watch out... she may take over the show on the big day!

Carter is the newest to the Smith crew born October 12, 2022. Son of Nerissa McKenzie and Colin Smith. Carter loves to laugh, play with crinkle toys, and blow bubbles.

Carter unfortunately will not be able to attend, but will be celebrating from afar at home with his mom!

Drew is the groom's younger brother. When not working for Edelman Financial, you can find Drew cruising around on the boat or sinking hole in ones on the golf course. Drew is part of the "Dream Team" between himself, the groom, and the bride (a story for another day) which is why we have asked him to officiate our wedding!

Brent is the groom's older brother. You will catch him flying down one of the double black diamond slopes or having a beer on the beach when he is not financing it up at Harbor Vest. He is married to Erika Giacchetto and have welcomed a new baby boy, first of his generation, Leo!

Pete is a long time friend (and former roommate) to the groom having known each other since elementary school. He is married to Liz and has a beautiful (no longer a pup), Wally. You can find him watching football, playing video games, or drinking on the golf course. He and Liz have brought their beautiful baby PJ into this world!

"Troopah" Fiumedora is the reason the bride and groom met. A very How I Met Your Mother moment. Fiume and the groom have been friends since 4th-grade little league. When he is not rocking that blue Statie uniform, you can find him eating off-brand chips, or being that kid that brings lobsters camping. Do not drink around him or talk about illegal activities unless you want to be lectured. Debate him about anything...I dare you.

Nimey is a friend of the groom's from Temple University. They became close from living across the hall from one another their Freshman year at White Hall, then later living together their sophomore and senior years. The two could always be found at the local campus bar playing quizzo, or aimlessly walking around Philly hunting for a new place to get a beer. He recently moved from Philly to Denver and is already embracing the hipster culture by wearing beanies in the summer and only taking photos in black and white.

Those who have arrived early and want a casual meet and greet, stop on by the bar we will be having a drink at! While there, grab your Welcome bag!

Shuttles DEPART for the Marriott Reef at 4:15.

Join us as we sail away on a Sunset Cruise by the VI Cat with drinks and apps from 5:00-7:00 followed by a rehearsal dinner from 7:15-10:15 at the Harbor View Deck back at the Westin.

Please join us on the open terrace by the water of beautiful privately owned intimate Villa Norbu followed by a fun night of cocktails, dinner, music, and dancing!

We will be providing transportation to and from this event from the Hotel.

Please meet in the Hotel lobby READY TO LEAVE at 3:00pm sharp! Don't want to miss the bus!

Not ready for the party to be over?
Then join us back at the Hotel in the Sunset Terrace room from 10:30pm-1:30am for continued music, drinks, and a late night 4th meal!

Please join us for brunch to celebrate our first day as husband and wife!

Come and enjoy buffet breakfast and mimosas as we say "see you later" to those heading to the airport.

There are no Uber / Lyfts on the island! Please plan to use the Taxi services the island offers.

You can rent a car, however be fair warned - although the driver seat is still on the left, they also drive on the left side of the road. In addition to that, small windy hilly roads with minimal road signage.

Transportation from Frenchman's Reef to Villa Norbu will be provided! Meet in the Hotel lobby at 3:00pm on 10/14.
